The large six-axis multi-anvil high-pressure press designed for ToF neutron diffraction experiments enables routine data collection at high pressures and high temperatures up to 10 GPa and 2000 K, respectively. To obtain clean data, the beamline is equipped with the incident slits and receiving collimators to eliminate parasitic scattering from the high-pressure cell assembly. The high performance of the diffractometer for the resolution (

0.6%) and the accessible -spacing range (0.2-8.4 
) together with low-parasitic scattering characteristics enables precise structure determination of crystals and liquids under high pressure and temperature conditions.

We now try to apply the multiple -ray detection method to the prompt -ray analysis (PGA). We have established a new cold neutron beam line for PGA in Japan Research Reactor, JRR-3M, at Tokai establishment of Japan Atomic Energy Research Institute(JAERI). It consists of a beam shutter, a beam attenuator, a -ray detector array, a sample changer, and a beam stopper. We construct a high-efficiency -ray detector array specially designed for this purpose. Its performance has been evaluated with the Monte Carlo simulation code, GEANT 4.5.0.

The world's first negative-ion based neutral beam injector(N-NBI) system has been developed for studies of non-inductive current drive and plasma core heating with high energy neutral beam injection in higher density plasma. Construction of the N-NBI system for JT-60U was completed in March 1996. The system is composed of a beamline with two ion souces, a set of ion source power supllies, control system and auxiliary sub-system such as cooling water, refrigeration and vaccum system. In July 2001, deuterium neutral beam injection of 400keV and 5.8MW into JT-60U plasma was achieved. In order to increase both beam power and energy we have to go on more improvement of the N-NBI.
